+ The police are searching for a suspect accused of stealing a 13-year-old girl’s bicycle in New York.
The incident happened near a pedestrian crossing on Warwick Road, around 4 p.m. last Saturday.
A shocking video captured the moment when the mother, upon seeing the car swerving towards them, quickly prepared for the impact and attempted to move the stroller away. In a desperate move, the mother tried to shield her daughter before the car hit the lamppost and overturned.
Immediately after the accident, pedestrians and drivers stopped to help. In a scene that can be described as a miracle, the mother was seen moments later, moving away from the wrecked car, holding her daughter, and sitting on a chair outside a nearby restaurant.
An employee from a local store, who rushed to help right after the accident, reported that the girl suffered a leg injury. “The mother was in shock, and her only two-year-old daughter,” said the employee. “It looked like she had broken her leg. It was a terrible accident.”
The West Midlands Ambulance Service responded quickly to the call, sending two ambulances to the scene. Both the girl and the car driver were injured, but fortunately, their lives are not in danger. Both were taken to the hospital for treatment.
The girl’s mother was treated at the scene and discharged with non-life-threatening injuries. The accident, which could have had much more serious consequences, serves as a frightening reminder of the importance of road safety.
